Foul play is suspected after the bodies of four Bulldogs potentially worth thousands were discovered floating in the Thames inside black bags.
Director Vicki Hudson said people sometimes bury their pet dogs in places where they liked to go for walks, adding: ‘It’s illegal, but you can understand why they do it.’
‘We have got to wait for the post-mortem but I think they were dead before they went into the water. There were no obvious signs that they had struggled in the bags.’Volunteers from Missing Paws UK discovered the bodies on Saturday night after receiving a call that sounded the alarm. Anyone who may have information has been urged to come forward, as experts try to locate the owners through microchips.
