Four charged with murder — including two 16-year-olds — in connection with fatal June shooting

Two 19-year-olds and two 16-year-olds have been charged with first-degree murder in the June 8 shooting of Javonte Daley.

Toronto Police announced on Wednesday that four arrests have been made in connection to aOn the evening of June 8, officers responded to several calls about a shooting behind a plaza nearThere they found one man, later confirmed to be 24-year-old Javonte Daley, with several gunshot wounds, as well as several bullet casings.

Daley’s injuries were determined to be life-threatening by Toronto paramedics, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Jamar Bernard, 19, and Emmanuel Kitenge, 19, both of the Greater Toronto Area, have been charged with first-degree murder. Two 16-year-olds, both of the Greater Toronto Area, have also been charged with first-degree murder.
