Fort Bend County has allocated $2.5 million in federal funds for a planned center in Rosenberg that will serve those who are experiencing or at risk for homelessness.
Fulshear Mayor Aaron Groff, who is vice president of the nonprofit group Attack Poverty, announces plans for a center to serve people experiencing or at risk for homelessness. Expected to open by October, the center will provide services and be able to accommodate 50 families. “This is Phase I of a big project,” said Aaron Groff, Fulshear's mayor and vice president of Attack Poverty. In 2021-22, Fort Bend ISD and Lamar CISD identified more than 1,600 students who were homeless and approximately 250 who have no parents or legal guardians living in the United States, George said.and Texas Workforce Solutions, and resources to clients will include employment assistance, temporary housing, behavioral health care and medical services, George said.
