The series will cover 2022 as 'a new dawn for Formula 1'
The release date for the much-anticipated fifth season of Formula 1: Drive to Survive has been announced by streaming giant Netflix. The season will cover the 2022 Grand Prix season with the trailer calling it "a new dawn for Formula 1".
The upcoming season looks to do the same, concentrating on a 2022 season which saw the biggest overhaul of the rules in Formula 1 history. The F1 website says season five will "take fans behind the scenes to witness how drivers and teams prepared to go wheel-to-wheel".Netflix announced on Thursday that season five of Drive To Survive will be released on February 24, 2023.
F1 introduced several new regulations last year, including changing the tyres from 13" to 18" and freezing teams from making any changes to the internal combustion engine and the turbo for four years. Whilst it has been revealed there will be ten episodes as normal, what each episode will cover remains a tightly-kept secret. Though it is likely the lively British Grand Prix at Silverstone will be covered.
