Former Umzimkhulu Municipal Manager Zweliphansi Sikhosana and his co-accused appeared in the Pietermaritzburg High Court, requesting more time to procure and consider transcripts from the first trial and testimony given before the Madlanga Commission.
Former Umzimkhulu Municipal Manager Zweliphansi Sikhosana and his co-accused Sibonelo Myeza and Mbulelo Mpofana appeared in the Pietermaritzburg High Court. On Wednesday, Sikhosana’s legal team asked for more time to procure and consider the transcripts from the first trial.
They also want the transcripts of the testimony give by Witness E when he appeared before the Madlanga Commission in January. Witness E revealed that he was tipped off about the plot to assassinate Magaqa and he fingered members of the Crime Intelligence Unit. He also told the commission that he informed his commander about the plot, and that Police Minister Senzo Mchunu had called him requesting information about the Magaqa case.
