The Seahawks weren’t able to hold on to Drew Lock, who now might be the Giants’ best option after a brutal 10-game stretch from Daniel Jones
If Brian Daboll isn’t fired this week, the coach of the New York Giants may have just opened the door for Drew Lock to start soon. Lock, who saw several meaningful moments in Seattle as backup quarterback behind Geno Smith, now sits on the bench in New York behind the chasmically inferior Daniel Jones. Whenever asked about the QB situation, coach Daboll has remained steadfast that Jones is the starter. The Giants are now 2-8 after losing to the Carolina Panthers, who are barely trying.
Lock played four games for the Seahawks, starting two of them. His highlight was unquestionably the game winner to Jaxon Smith-Njigba to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles, but he also threw two touchdowns against the San Francisco 49ers. Lock left in free agency for a 1-year deal with the Giants for up to $5 million. Reports are that John Schneider really wanted him here, but his path to playtime was more likely in New York.
