Tenant selection committee named for former Queen Elizabeth School property.
Plans are moving forward for the former Queen Elizabeth School property.
Prince Edward County council, during a Committee of the Whole meeting on Thursday, discussed their next steps with the acquisition of the property. During the Thursday discussion, four Councillors and the mayor were appointed to form a Tenant Selection Committee, and staff were directed to put out an Expression of Interest for various kinds of tenants alongside the affordable housing plans for the property.
Councillors Sam Branderhorst, Corey Engelsdorfer, Kate McNaughton, and Janice Maynard along with Mayor Steve Ferguson were appointed to the selection committee. The committee will not be involved in selecting tenants for the affordable housing on the property. The selection committee will be selecting other tenants intended to provide services and support to residents and the surrounding community, such as health care providers, community organizations and non-profits.
