Republican Alison Esposito has entered the race to unseat Rep. Pat Ryan , deemed a target by House Republicans who hope to widen their narrow majority in the lower chamber in 2024.
Esposito unsuccessfully ran for lieutenant governor with gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin in the 2022 midterm elections. She will now run to unseat Ryan, who has represented New York's 18th Congressional District since 2023. He previously served as the representative for New York's 19th Congressional District from 2022 to 2023 after winning a special election.
