Atletico Ottawa has signed former Canadian national team defender Karl Ouimette to a two\u002Dyear contract.
Ouimette, 30, played 18 games for the national team between 2013-16. Gonzalez says Ouimette’s international experience playing for Canada will be a major addition to Atletico because he understands how to play in pressure-packed environments. Ouimette, a native of Terrebonne, Que., graduated from the CF Montreal Academy before embarking on a pro career that has also included stops in Jacksonville, San Francisco, Indianapolis and Detroit.
