The former Man United, Everton, Fiorentina and Rangers player is sporting director of Kazhakh side FC Tobol

Manchester United legend Andrei Kanchelskis said he is 'pleased for the British people' as he was interviewed by RTE at half time in Derry City's historic European clash with FC Tobol in Dublin on Thursday.

In a good natured pitchside interview, Kanchelskis made something of a gaffe as he spoke warmly of the "British people" enjoying the occasion."I'm very happy and very glad to come back," he told RTE. He added: "This is football and I'm very pleased for the British people, they are very friendly and thank you to the fans coming to Dublin from the City. It's a nice stadium and a nice ground."

Derry traveled to Kazakhstan last week where they lost 1-0 away from home but opened the scoring early on thanks to a Will Patching penalty in their second leg Europa Conference League qualifier.
