Nkosingiphile Ngcobo will have a big role to play in Kaizer Chiefs' push to finish in one of the CAF club competition spots at the end of the season, according to a former Amakhosi player.

Ngcobo finished 2021 on a high note, with some impressive performances which saw him score stunning goals in the DStv Premiership matches against Sekhukhune United and Maritzburg United. He started the match against Sekhukhune and came on as a substitute at home to Maritzburg. The 22-year-old has struggled to break into head coach Stuart Baxter's starting line-up this season, but will be hoping 2022 will be better for him in featuring regularly in the former Bafana Bafana mentor's side.

"To be honest, that boy does not have anything else to prove to anyone. If you check, even before Baxter came on board, he was doing well. But coaches are not the same, though I feel he is a very good player and one for the future for Chiefs," Mabotsa told the Siya crew. "He can help the team. He played well , but from my side, I think he needs to score more goals. That's one thing that he needs to do. He will come right, as long as they keep on giving him game-time, then his confidence will keep growing."
