Former high school teacher confesses to ex-wife's murder in Gqeberha High Court
Former high school teacher Johnny Baartman was sentenced to 25 years in prison in the Eastern Cape High Court in Gqeberha on Friday, after admitting to beating his ex-wife to death with the wooden handle of a pickaxe.
A packed public gallery, consisting of the families of both Desiree and Johnny, listened intently while the plea agreement was read into the record.
