A former college soccer player from Columbus is scheduled to be arraigned in court Wednesday in connection with Jordan Livits ' bond was set at $400,000 last month, about six weeks after the beating of a Chicago attorney visiting Ohio over the Memorial Day weekend.
Jacob Hicks told ABC 6 back in June that his injuries were so severe that he required emergency surgery immediately following the attack along North High Street.for sharing tips with investigators that eventually led them to Livits, who is now charged with felonious assault. "I could've died," Hicks told ABC 6. "I am confident that evening, he was out to kill me for sport and nothing else."
Hicks said he was targeted near the Ohio State campus after he suggested to a man to get out of the street for his own safety. Hicks said the man appeared to be intoxicated."Hit me from behind, and knocked me to the ground and kicked me in the face several times," Hicks said.He starred at The Wellington School, a private school in Columbus, before moving on to play in college at Duquesne for a year. He then transferred to the University of Tampa to play there for one season.
