. The Rangers announced that interview last week. In their past two managerial searches, the Rangers have announced interviewees after they met with club officials. The club has not announced a policy on how this search will be handled.Thursday and Friday regarding the nature of his trip to Nashville.

A week ago, at his end-of-season press conference, Young said this of Bochy: “I loved playing for [Bochy]. He was a tremendous manager. I learned a lot from him. He’s just a calm, steady presence. I have the utmost respect for him. He’s a tremendous person and manager.” Asked at the press conference if the Rangers could conduct a managerial search without knowing Bochy’s feelings about the position, Young declined to comment.

Bochy managed San Diego and San Francisco over 25 years from 1995 through 2019, amassing 2,003 wins. He took the Padres to the World Series in 1998 where they were swept by the Yankees. He went to San Francisco in 2007 and took the Giants to World Series championships in 2010, 2012 and 2014. The 2010 win, over the Rangers, was the Giants’ first since the team moved from New York.
