The NHL started officially tracking shot-blocks in 2005-06, the same winter that the undrafted Giordano logged his debut in the Flaming C. “When I was playing with him, you’d watch him on the kill, just blocking a lot of big one-timers and shots,” echoed Hanifin. “He puts himself in those tough spots that not a lot of guys enjoy getting into.”
