More major league jobs for Okotoks Dawgs?
“At 6-foot-3, 210 lb., Melton is a physical left-handed hitter with the ability to play an above-average corner outfield at the next level,” said Dawgs Academy head coach Jeff Duda. “As he continues to mature physically and as a player, there is potential for some true power production offensively. Linn-Benton has strong Dawgs connections, since head coach Andy Peterson, himself a former NCAA Division 1 World Series champion with Oregon State, is a longtime coach of the Dawgs summer collegiate club. “Logan is a left-handed hitting catcher, which helps his bat profile a little bit better,” said Duda of the 5-foot-11, 212-lb. backstop. “He is an elite defender and really knows how to handle a pitching staff. Offensively, he has above-average strike-zone awareness and has good bat-to-ball skills.”
