Developers say no protected trees will be lost and 'low quality' ones that are felled will be replaced

A former care home in Larbert is to be transformed into residential care units after permission was granted.

This week, Safe as Houses, a company that specialises in regenerating old properties for care purposes was granted planning permission by Falkirk Council to convert the building into six residential care units, with a further 13 units being built in the grounds. Twelve trees will be cut down for the development but planning officers say they are 'low quality' trees and the plans show that replacement trees along with new shrubs, grass and wildflowers will all be planted.
