Ottawa police said the allegations were made by a woman in relation to incidents that allegedly took place in 2013 and 2014
Former Canadian senator Don Meredith is facing charges of sexual assault and criminal harassment related to incidents that allegedly took place in 2013 and 2014.
Mr. Meredith, 58, served as a senator in the Red Chamber between 2010 and 2017 before resigning amid allegations that he had a sexual relationship with a teenage girl. His resignation came as his colleagues were about to vote on his ouster over the allegations. Mr. Meredith denied having sex with the woman before she turned 18, but the report alleged that Mr. Meredith had intercourse with the girl once when she was 17 and twice when she was 18.
