Former Bloemfontein police officer accused of defrauding the police department
A former warrant officer in the Free State , arrested on allegation of fraud, has been released on bail of R5 000 with conditions by the Bloemfontein Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 29 July - a day after his arrest. The 48-year-old suspect is set to reappear in the Bloemfontein Regional Court on 22 August.
Col Zweli Mohobeleli, provincial spokesperson for the Hawks, said the identity of the suspect has being withheld for security reasons. He said the suspect was attached to the provincial South African Police Services’ Crime Intelligence unit at Parkweg in Bloemfontein.
