CAPE TOWN - Former member of parliament and ANC Western Cape member, Bruce Kannemeyer, has passed away at the age of 60.He played a significant role in the transition from apartheid to a democratic government.
Provincial spokesperson Buntu Gwija said that Kannemeyer’s insights and efforts will be greatly missed. In 2006, Kannemeyer’s political career faced a setback when the Western Cape High Court convicted him and four other MP's for fraud in a travel voucher scandal.
