Former Congressman Terry Everett has died.

Prior to serving in Congress, he was a journalist, and a newspaper owner and publisher. He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force. Gov. Ivey directed flags to be lowered to half-staff on the grounds of the Alabama State Capitol Complex and in AL-02 until Everett’s interment.“Congressman Everett was an Air Force veteran, journalist, and a powerful voice for Alabama’s Second District during his time in Congress. Alabama benefitted greatly from his service. Heather and I are sad to hear about his passing, and we hope you’ll join us in praying for his family.
