announced his retirement from MLB on Monday on a live stream on Twitch, during which he also harshly criticized franchise owner John Fisher.
May, 34, called for Fisher to sell the franchise amid his attempt to relocate the team from Oakland to Las Vegas, blasting the 62-year-old in“Sell the team, dude... Sell it, man. Let someone who actually, like, takes pride in the things they own, own something. There’s actually people who give a s--- about the game. Let them do it. Take mommy and daddy’s money somewhere else, dork,” said May of Fisher.
“If you’re going to be a greedy f---, own it. There’s nothing weaker than being afraid of cameras... You’re too soft to take any responsibility for anything you’re doing,” he added. May pitched one season in Oakland, making 49 appearances for the team and recording a 3.28 ERA and 21 saves.The nine-year veteran announced his retirement during the stream on Twitch. He made 358 appearances in his career, having featured for the Twins, Mets, and Athletics.
