A talented Orlando Pirates player hasn’t represented the club since 2021 but he might get his chance in 2024-2025.There are plenty of recent examples of players who left Pirates for valuable game time and returned as more complete players. Monnapule Saleng, Golden Boot winner Tshegofatso Mabasa and 22-year-old central defender Thabiso Sesane are three shining examples of that. Now, 22-year-old forgotten star Azola Tshobeni wants to be another.
Tshobeni, an elegant left-footed attacking midfielder, had his last outing for Pirates in the 2020-2021 campaign when he made eight appearances across all competitions. Back then, he was still a teenager.Defending MTN8 champs Orlando Pirates host SuperSport United in the opening fixture of the quarter-finals at Orlando Stadium. That match kicks off on Saturday 03 August at 18:00.
