Pretoria based Serious Commercial Crime Investigation team ensured that two accused, Tyrone Pillay and Quinton James appear before the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court on 03 December 2013. The duo is facing 189 theft charges, 189 Fraud charges and count 190, money laundering in contravention of Section 4 of Prevention of Organised Crime Act.

Meanwhile, Pretoria Magistrates’ Court granted forfeiture order in a Sunnyside case on 31 October 2023. In an unrelated matter, a forfeiture order was granted by the Johannesburg High Court on 9 October 2023 in Johannesburg case of dealing drugs. On 08 September 2020, the Hawks members attached to the South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau received information about a truck from Mozambique to Johannesburg which was transporting drugs.

In a separate case, on 25 March 2022, Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation team conducted an undercover entrapment operation in terms of section 252 of CPA.
