Detectives found a woman dead in her flat
Forensics have been searching a housing complex in Beeston as a murder investigation into the death of a woman continues. The 46-year-old was found dead in her flat in County Close on Monday, September 25.
Forensic officers arrived again at the scene on Thursday morning, September 28, and they could be seen searching a housing complex. The woman hasn't been formally identified by the police. Detective Inspector Kaz Smithson of Nottinghamshire Police has previously said: “First and foremost our thoughts go out to the woman’s family and friends during this incredibly distressing time.
“A team of detectives have been carrying out multiple lines of inquiry since Monday morning and we can confirm a 50-year-old man has now been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody. We know the news is likely to cause some alarm and distress in the community. “I would like to reassure residents that this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the wider public.” The victim's family are being supported by specially trained officers.
