The ACGO has granted temporary permission for bars and restaurants to start serving alcoholic beverages on 7 a.m. because of the time difference with the tournament’s locations.
Connie Mastrangelo, who runs Café Diplomatico with her husband Rocco, said their restaurant will be showing most of the tournament’s 64 games at its “new state-of-the-art video wall.”
“Some games are being played during off hours so we will show the reruns,” Mastrangelo said. “If Canada advances to the final rounds we will open for all games despite the hour, and celebrate in typical Café Dip style.”Games featuring the Canadian team are scheduled for TV showing at several other bars across the city such as Real Sports, Hoops Sports Bar & Grill, Duke of York Pub and Round the Horn Sports Bar among others.
“We haven’t received any inquiries about it thus far but we have a big soccer following at the brewery so I’m sure as the tournament progresses if the games are shown at reasonable times we’ll have some crowds,” said Sean Allen at
