SNAP payments begin distribution on the second day of each month in Delaware. The amount received depends on recipients' household size — single households receive $281, while eight-member households receive $1,691, according to Delaware.gov. For each additional person, $211 can be added.The First State sports one of the longest windows for issuing payments in the United States, taking up over three-quarters of the month.
A household's gross monthly income cannot exceed 200% of the federal poverty level to qualify for payments. A single household cannot make more than $2,266 monthly, while an eight-person household cannot make more than $7,772.Like most other states, Delaware SNAP payments are loaded onto an EBT card, and no additional action is required. The card can be used like a credit card, but only for food and nonalcoholic drinks. The funds cannot be used on alcohol and other luxuries.
