The trailer for Amy Schumer’s new Food Network show, “Amy Schumer Learns to Cook,” is out!
Last month, the comedian announced that she and her husband, professional chef Chris Fischer, would be hosting the self-filmed and at-home cooking show—shot entirely in their actual kitchen. The show will consist of eight episodes and includeon making popular dishes like tacos, pasta, and even a “how-to” on cleaning up the fridge. Based on the trailer, the show is going to be downright hilarious.
The premise of the show involved Schumer making cocktails, while Fischer does the cooking. But, according to the trailer, it will also include Schumer-style jokes. “Get that fennel out of my face. I need my face, it’s my money maker, as they say in the biz,” she says to Fischer in the trailer, continuing, “Some people flip houses, we flip latkes.”with Howard Stern, Schumer revealed that when she was first approached by Food Network, she said, “I don’t know how to cook at all.
“I make jokes the whole time. It’s just us being ourselves, so I’m trashing him and he’s belittling me…and we lose focus…it’s just ridiculous,” Schumer told Stern, adding that she was a bartender for 10 years, so she’s got the cocktail-making part of the show down. So also stated in the interview that the show would teach people how to cook. “I am learning how to cook, which is cool, because I didn’t know,” she said.
The couple had already shot the first season by the time it was announced, Schumer revealed during the interview, with the help of their filming crew . “Our nanny shot the show and we shot it when Gene was taking his naps and if he wakes up, guess what, he’s on the show,” Schumer jokingly said.
