With the number of people being helped on a weekly basis by Share Alike rocketing - now exceeding 1,400 - founder Annmarie Campbell says their volunteers were sickened by recent events
A second East Kilbride charity has been left "sickened" by fraudsters posing as food bank volunteers after becoming the latest victim of the con.
Food bank boss Lesley Davidson said they were "literally taking food from the hungry" and warned other food banks, charities and supermarkets in the area to be extra vigilant. She said: “We also fell victim to the bogus collectors that the East Kilbride News highlighted in last week’s paper. Annmarie hopes that the thefts are being carried out by someone desperate, but believes that it could be a case of organised crime.
"We've now had to give photos of all our drivers to each store and instructed them not to give out any donations without written notification from me.
