The Flyers have added some experience behind the bench.
Therrien hasn’t coached in the NHL since being fired by the Montreal Canadiens partway through the 2016-17 season. That was his second stint with the Canadiens — his first actually saw him replace Vigneault in Montreal in 2000.
Yeo was fired by the St. Louis Blues back in November after coaching the club for parts of three seasons. Prior to that, he served as head coach of the Minnesota Wild for four and a half seasons. Yeo and Therrien worked together for four seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins from 2005-2009. The Flyers hired Vigneault on April 15 to fill the head-coaching vacancy after the dismissal of Dave Hakstol back in December. Scott Gordon, who served as interim, is now back behind the bench of the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
