Flaviane Carvalho, a server at a Mrs. Potato restaurant in Orlando, Fla., was working on New Year’s Day in 2021 when she noticed the boy’s parents didn’t order him any food,Carvalho quickly scrawled “Do you need help?” on some paper and showed it to the then 11-year-old victim while his parents weren’t paying attention.“I’m super-concerned and I don’t know what to do, can you give me some advice?” Carvalho asked a dispatcher, according to the outlet.
Abuse inflicted on the child included being “hung upside down from a door” with ratchet straps “tied around his ankles and neck,” “hit with a wooden broom” and handcuffed to a dolly.
