South Alabama is 3-5 this season after loss to Florida Atlantic. The Jaguars return to action at 1 p.m. Sunday at UAB.
Florida Atlantic shot 60.7% from the field and made 10 3-pointers in an 84-59 victory over South Alabama in Boca Raton, Fla., on Wednesday night.
The loss dropped the Jaguars to 3-5 this season and was the program’s worst since a 91-62 defeat to Little Rock on Jan. 12, 2019, coach Richie Riley’s first year on the job. FAU jumped out to a 15-2 lead in the early going and was up by as many as 27 in the second half. The Jaguars were out-rebounded 38-20 and turned the ball over 14 times.
Michael Forrest led the Owls with 17 points off the bench, while Brandon Weatherspoon had 16 and Nick Boyd recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. FAU shot 75.8% in the second half, in which it outscored South Alabama 55-39.If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
