The video introduces Josh Hutcherson as a cash-strapped security guard who accepts a night-time shift at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. “The terrifying horror game phenomenon becomes a blood-chilling cinematic event, as Blumhouse brings Five Nights at Freddy’s to the big screen,” reads the synopsis. “The film follows a troubled security guard as he begins working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. While spending his first night on the job, he realizes the night shift at Freddy’s won’t be so easy to make it through.”from a screenplay she co-wrote with game creator Scott Cawthon and Seth Cuddeback.
Jim Henson’s Creature Shop has signed on to the project to help bring the video game’s horrifying robotic creatures to life. It will be produced by Cawthon and Blum, with Russell Binder serving as an executive producer. The original Five Nights at Freddy’s game challenges players to survive for five nights as a security guard in a demented pizza entertainment restaurant where homicidal, possessed animatronics roam the halls in search of their next victims.
