Five Nelson residents fined £5,373 for fly tipping in streets after failing to appear in court
Another five people have been fined by Pendle Borough Council for dumping waste on the borough's streets.
Ioan Botez, of Berriedale Road, Nelson, was fined a total of £1460.50 for persistently dumping bags of waste on a backstreet. He was found guilty of dumping waste in the Berriedale Road area of Nelson and fined £660, as well as being ordered to pay court costs of £512.50, £24 compensation and £264 victim surcharge, bringing the total to £1460.50.
Priscilla Corcoran, of Whitehall Street, Nelson, was fined a total of £408.00 for persistently dumping bags of waste on a backstreet. She was found guilty of dumping waste in the Whitehall Street area of Nelson, fined £220 and ordered to pay court costs of £100, plus a £88 victim surcharge, bringing the total to £408.
