The burger chain is on its way
The wait is almost over for Five Guys fans in Lancashire, with the American burger chain finally confirming the opening date of their new restaurant in Preston. The new venue, which will be housed inside the former Frankie & Benny's site in Deepdale Retail Park will open on Monday, October 3.
As previously revealed by LancsLive, a recruitment drive for the new restaurant was launched in February, while planning permission was submitted in April. A report submitted with the application states: "The application site was last occupied as a Frankie & Benny’s who have now vacated and is adjacent to carparking for the wider retail park, Pizza Hut and McDonald’s restaurants, and a parade of smaller retail units".It adds: "The scheme includes a new door to the unit which is necessary for Five Guys to operate successfully from the restaurant.
Five Guys, which originated in Virginia in 1986 and first arrived in the UK in 2013 in London's Covent Garden, are famed for their made-to-order, customised burgers, hot dogs and milkshakes. Diners can choose from more than 250,00 burger combinations and 1,000 possible ways to customise a milkshake. The popular diner has more than 1,000 venues worldwide including 113 and counting in the UK, and despite currently having a number of restaurants in neighbouring Greater Manchester, Yorkshire and Liverpool regions, Lancashire and Cumbria had missed out, until now.
