The BC DragiT Challenge 2023 is coming to NITRO Motorsports Park on June 16.
Racers from across Western Canada and the U.S will be driving their street-legal drag racing cars from city to city for five consecutive days of racing at four different tracks. Racing starts and ends in Cache Creek on June 15 and June 19, with races in Prince George on June 16, 100 Mile House on June 17 and Lillooet on June 18.
No support vehicles will be permitted, and racers will have to stop at designated check points along the route, according to information released by organizers Mark and Dianne Boutilier on Thursday. “Anything the racer thinks they will want or need must be loaded in their race car or towed in a very small trailer,” the Boutiliers wrote “Winners will be crowned in seven classes at the final race based on their best time at each race.”
Racing at NITRO Motorsports Park, located at 9285 Raceway Rd., will run from roughly 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is $10 for spectators, with seniors, club members and children under 12 getting in for free. NITRO Motorsports Park will host it regular Friday Night Drags event that evening.“There have been many such events going on for years in the United States, which intrigued us to the point we wanted BC to have its own Drag 'n Drive Event,” the Boutiliers wrote.
