The recalls come days after Fisker started offering employees the chance to buy an Ocean for just $20,000
Fortunately for owners, both issues can be resolved with a simple over-the-air software update. In North America, the Fisker Ocean uses incorrect fonts and font sizes for several warning lights. These recalls come as the struggling EV maker fights for survival. Things keep going from bad to worse for Fisker and to compound all the financial woes its going through, it has just issued recalls for the Ocean SUV in Europe and North America.
The fault will be resolved through an over-the-air update. The second recall is limited to the US and Canada and involves 6,864 Ocean SUVs. To comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, all cars must have specific fonts, font sizes, and colors for warning lights on the dash. Fisker has revealed the font size it uses for the brake, park, and ABS warning indicators is too small. Additionally, the brake warning lights are amber and not red as they’re required to be.
