A driver killed in a horror crash in Perth and Kinross on Saturday has been named locally as John Carswell.Tributes have poured in for the John on social media, who was a keen cyclist and well known in the Arbroath community.

"The club sends its sincere condolences to his family and many friends. He will be long remembered for his constant chat on the bike, company on the cobbles of Cheshire and Flanders and his grin and big wave as he went about the town in his van.Friend Nicholas Martin wrote: "Absolutely devastated to hear this today such a great friend taken far too soon. RIP John Carswell, you always had time for me. I'll miss our conversations when we catch up.

Deborah Garbett-Heenan said: "I’m in shock! Absolutely devastating news. He was such an awesome and incredible guy. So full of fun, spirit and soul. Deepest condolences to all his family and friends!"
