Speaking at an event in Enfield, N.S., Anand confirmed the “first Canadian evacuation flight from Sudan” has taken place. Anand said the evacuation was with a Canadian CC-130 Hercules aircraft.
OTTAWA—After 12 days of deadly fighting in Sudan, the federal government has carried out its first direct airlift of Canadians from the northeast African country, Defence Minister Anita Anand says.
