The friendship between Tully and Kate is tested in the Firefly Lane season 2 trailer. Based on the novel of the same name by Kristin Hannah, Firefly Lane debuted in February 2021 on Netflix. The series follows the lives of two teen girls — Tully and Kate — in the 1990s and tracks them all the way into adulthood, where they're played respectively by Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke. Along the way, and in each of the timelines, the duo faces down personal and professional turbulence.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY The series, which was created by Maggie Friedman, has been a big success in terms of viewership for Netflix. For the first week of its debut, the adaptation ranked number one in Nielsen's ratings data. A relatively speedy renewal followed in May, though it was later announced that Firefly Lane would end with season 2. Still, with 16 episodes left to go, Tully and Kate have a lot more story to unfurl and potentially some heartache along the way.
What To Expect From Firefly Lane Season 2 The trailer picks up on many of the questions raised by Firefly Lane season 1, including what happened to Johnny in Iraq and Tully's career woes after she decides to leave her talk show. It also touches on the character's search for her father and a potential new romantic relationship.
While it's a safe bet that Firefly Lane season 2 will not wrap up with Tully and Kate at a distance, the show emphasizes the importance of the journey by virtue of its premise. The question of what transpires, and how it informs the characters, will be a big one when the adaptation makes its comeback in a matter of weeks. It will be interesting to see how the show juggles that significant thread alongside the many other lingering questions.
