The cause has been determined as accidental
The fire at Old City Court in the city was reported at 1.30pm on Saturday. Three appliances from Crescent Link and Northland stations attended the incident.
Firefighters using breathing apparatus and other specialist equipment quickly brought the incident under control and rescued two people from the buildingIn a statement issued on Saturday evening, a spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service said: “NIFRS was called to reports of a fire at Old City Court, Londonderry at 13.29hrs on Saturday 24th December 2022.
“Three appliances from Crescent Link and Northland stations attended the incident. Firefighters using breathing apparatus and other specialist equipment quickly brought the incident under control and rescued two people from within the building. “Fire Service Regional Control Centre emergency call handlers initially provided fire survival advice via telephone to the residents until firefighters arrived.
