A residential fire was extinguished Friday at a Westminster townhome complex, the same complex where a unit exploded and a building burned on Wednesday.
Firefighters responded at about 12:50 p.m. Friday to the Stratus Townhomes, 8300 Sheridan Blvd., and extinguished a smoldering fire that was contained to one unit, according to a police department news release. There were no people inside and no injuries. An investigation is ongoing. Police said the fire does not appear to have been caused by faulty mechanical equipment.inside a unit in an eight-unit building at Stratus.
Property managers at Stratus had hired a contractor who was working on the unit that exploded on Wednesday, police said. Stratus has since hired another contractor to inspect all the buildings in the complex. An investigation into the cause of the explosion is ongoing and will likely take several weeks.
