An attorney listed for Ludlow in court documents did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Ludlow has since been linked to numerous guns recovered from homicides and other crime scenes, guns in the hands of criminals and guns recovered in foreign countries, according to the U.S. attorney’s office for the Northern District of Texas. As part of the scheme, Ludlow, Harris and Meza made false statements on ATF Form 4473, a document people are required to fill out when buying a gun from a federally licensed dealer, plea documents say.
Ludlow often lied on the forms about the date and location of the purchase, the type of firearms sold and whether he completed a background check on the buyer — something required of federally licensed firearms dealers, the U.S. attorney’s office said.
