A small fire sparked by an equipment malfunction Wednesday evening prompted a brief shutdown of BART services between San Francisco and Daly City, according to transit officials.
Transit officials later elaborated that a coverboard over an electric rail began sparking, which led to a small fire along the track that was extinguished by about 6:50 p.m. 7:00on 12/28 update: track inspections are complete and equipment is safe to resume service between 24th St. and Daly City Stations. We are restoring service. Thank you for your patience.
