South African filmmaker and TV producer Duma ka Ndlovu, along with his co-accused tax practitioners Rodney Mutsharini and Maxwell Mloyi, have been granted bail in a case involving alleged tax fraud. They face 18 charges related to misrepresenting tax returns, resulting in an estimated loss of R26 million to the South African Revenue Service (SARS). The case has been postponed for further investigations.

Filmmaker and TV producer Duma ka Ndlovu has been granted bail of R100 000 by the Specialised Commercial Crime Court sitting in Palm Ridge in Johannesburg.

His co-accused tax practitioners, Rodney Mutsharini and Maxwell Mloyi, were granted bail of R50 000 each.In March 2021, the Zondo Commission heard how Ndlovu’s company, Ambrobrite, was financially rewarded for giving strategic advice on procurement and introducing a consultancy firm, Bain and Company, to political leaders, particularly former president Jacob Zuma.

“The case against Dumakude ka Ndlovu and his co-accused Rodney Mutsharini and Maxwell Mloyi was postponed to 11 November for further investigations. The three are facing 18 charges relating to the contravention of the Tax Administration Act where they allegedly colluded to misrepresent Ndlovu’s personal tax returns and his company’s tax returns resulting in a loss of approximately R26 million to SARS,” says spokesperson for the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption, Henry Mamothame.
