She runs a shelter for victims of domestic abuse, and she has a history of sit-ins and protest marches. Basically, Evelyn is disappointed with her son; the apple has fallen so far from the tree it’s in a different orchard. So she gloms onto Kyle , the son of a recent inductee at the shelter, determined to save him from what she sees as a bad life by getting him a scholarship for an elite school. What she doesn’t realize is that Kyle just wants to work in his dad’s auto repair shop.Article content
But his efforts to splice his musical sensibilities onto her political ones fail miserable. Worse, he’s blind to the fact that she’s just not interested in him. It’s terrible or, as Ziggy might say, “tera-bull.” But he is trying.
