Khamzat Chimaev confirmed his status as UFC’s next huge star with a victory over Gilbert Burns at UFC 273.
Chimaev came out with two straight kicks and launched straight into a takedown attempt that Burns was able to stuff against the cage. Just when Burns looked like he was making some progress, Chimaev dropped the 35 year old with a stiff jab and launched into some sharp elbows on the ground that split open Burns.
When Chimaev reversed a takedown and was in Burns’ full guard, the Brazilian full-on booted Chimaev off him with a side kick to the chest.
