That’s not a living room or even a scenario staged in a furniture store. It’s the new look at Brunswick’s Fifth Third Bank, and it’s all about a better customer experience.
Passersby were likely surprised by the crowd outside the building early on Wednesday as the Northern Medina County Chamber Alliance, along with Fifth Third employees and guests, officially cut the ribbon honoring the new design and the bank’s commitment to the community. The reaction of the staff and bank officials could be seen through the smiles on their faces. Tellers won’t have to sit behind a counter or barrier. They now have tablets on which they can help customers who are perhaps sitting on the sofa or in one of the offices that doesn’t have a door.
“This next generation of financial centers is really to make them more welcoming to our clients that come into the banks,” Fifth Third Bank’s Northern Ohio Regional President Tom Partridge said as the ribbon was unrolled and the Chamber Alliance’s familiar giant scissors were given to Mackey by Debbie Boehmke, executive director of the NMCCA.
Mackey thanked her staff and all the people who had worked to design and transform the center while continuing normal operations.
