Troopers said the man, who is from St. Augustine, was riding north on US 1 when the van attempted to make a U-turn to continue heading south on US 1. The motorcyclist crashed into the left side of the van, and the van pulled into the southbound shoulder. The report said the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.The 71-year-old Port Orange man driving the van was not injured. The report said he was wearing a seatbelt.
