Fernando Alonso has hinted at a Aston Martin resurgence in the second half of the F1 2023 season after a rollercoaster start to the campaign.
“I think it was a good race for us. So always when your top five means that you did something good,” Alonso said. “I think the [Spa] result is a bit more optimistic for the team. We’re going to the summer break with the feet on the ground knowing that is not enough. I think the competition are very strong right now but this is the first step into a better Aston Martin.”‘Second half of the season is going to be interesting’
Asked where he thinks Aston Martin are in the current pecking order, Alonso, too, doesn’t have a definitive answer to share.
